India is set to experience another day of active monsoon weather on Friday, September 18, with heavy rainfall predicted in various regions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and East Rajasthan are likely to receive heavy rain.

Impact & Risks

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms may disrupt daily life in affected regions, including transportation and outdoor activities. Gusty winds could pose risks to infrastructure and vegetation, while lightning increases the danger of electrical hazards. Kerala is expected to experience hot and humid conditions, adding to discomfort. The formation of a fresh low-pressure area around September 19 may intensify rainfall in eastern and southern India, potentially leading to localised flooding and waterlogging.
